Keep stress healthy

Reduce the health risk of stress by keeping it short and sweet. If you have a stressful day ahead of you, break it up with lots of mini relaxation breaks throughout the day that only take seconds to do - a few deep breaths, sitting back and stretching, walking to the window and getting some fresh air, getting up and moving around - the more, the healthier.

Enjoy life
The body needs to experience pleasure and satisfaction to stay happy and healthy. Incorporate positive stimulation into your life by planning in fun. If you think you have no time for such self indulgence then remind yourself exactly why you are working so hard, getting stressed out or filling your life full of unpleasant chores and duties. If it is not for some sort of reward, then why are you doing it?

Look at the physical
If you want maximum energy to run a busy life, then you need to look after your body. Looking after your health may seem dull and boring but there is nothing more dull and boring than feeling ill and tired all the time. Stimulants and highly processed foods such as those high in sugar only clog up the body and increase fatigue. Keep your body fit and you will feel fantastic!

Be reaslistic
Negative stress is so often generated because we have an unrealistic and overoptimistic view on how we expect people to behave, life to turn out and goals to be achieved. Life does not run smoothly and if you imagine it will then your life will be full of disappointments. To control stress, you need to have control on the situation. Ignoring problems and potential pit falls won't make them go away but will increase the likelihood of them getting much worse. Dealing with the negative things in life will give you the confidence to succeed through a positive attitude.

Stay connected
The basic human desire is to be loved and respected. To stay happy we need to stay in touch. We are not designed to live in isolation and although it is not always easy to interact, if we don't then our wishes will be, at best, misrepresented and at worst, completely ignored. Communication often involves conflict and compromise but it is also the most effective route to achieving personal satisfaction. How else could we find the love of our life, or dream job.
